The Idiot Guide to Creativity and Career is a selfhelp guide I would qualify as alternative in the sense that it doesnt offer quick fixes but an approach to raise the consciousness level of the whole of the person. It is for this reason that the guide appears written not in the rosy colors of most productions of that kind that often describe the world as a wonderful place and the eye of the beholder as being unclean and misadjusted to reality. If all was so easy we would have done a spiritual ascension as a human race long ago. Instead we are with every day closer to the abyss of global war and conflict and economic and ecological disaster because people have not learnt to help themselves but today are as manipulated by the general propaganda than at any time before in human history. That is why I believe true selfhelp also must encourage you to be critical in the first place and to develop your selfthinking abilities which is one quality of several when designing your firsthand life and become truly responsible for your destiny. To be critical means to question tradition and authority in the first place it means to look for realizing your personal style and your cognitive preferences. This is why in my approach to personal growth spiritual teachings that are saying humans are by nature basically sane if they refuse to being conditioned by our insane educational systems have been integrated in my coaching approach. In fact the teachings of first of all Krishnamurti and Maharshi have found a strong entry in my philosophical setup years ago and today are part of my general approach to life and to career design.
